Nicole Mirmelli

Nicole Mirmelli is an Associate Attorney at Elliott, Riquelme & Wilson, LLP, where she practices family law and criminal defense. With more than a decade of experience across criminal litigation, negotiation, mediation, and legal strategy, Nicole brings a thoughtful, practical, and client-centered approach to her practice. She is committed to understanding each client's unique circumstances, identifying effective legal strategies, and providing strong advocacy during challenging and often deeply personal legal matters.

Ms. Mirmelli’s criminal law experience spans both prosecution and defense, giving her a valuable perspective on the criminal justice system. As a former Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County, Florida, she handled thousands of felony cases, including matters involving domestic violence, trafficking, and public corruption. She later served as a public defender in Oregon, representing clients in misdemeanor and felony cases ranging from DUII offenses to serious violent felonies. This experience informs her approach to case evaluation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.

Ms. Mirmelli’s background in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution also informs her family law practice. She understands the importance of balancing strategic advocacy with practical problem-solving, particularly when legal disputes affect family relationships and long-term stability. Her experience navigating complex legal matters, communicating with diverse stakeholders, and developing creative solutions allows her to approach each case with adaptability and attention to detail.

Beyond litigation, Ms. Mirmelli has experience in nonprofit governance, contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, and community outreach. As in-house counsel and Director of Development for the Young At Art Museum in Florida, she advised on complex legal and organizational matters and worked with local government officials to navigate challenging negotiations. Earlier in her career, she gained international legal experience in London, working on complex criminal litigation, international sports law, and disciplinary proceedings.

Ms. Mirmelli earned her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law, where she received honors in negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution. She also earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Film Studies from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her multidisciplinary background contributes to her creative problem-solving, adaptability, and ability to approach legal challenges from multiple perspectives.

Licensed to practice in California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Nebraska, and Oregon, Ms. Mirmelli is committed to treating every client with respect, compassion, and diligence.
